Public Accountability

The Left has no end of ways to demonize people who oppose unelected judges reaching into and ruling on every aspect of modern life. There are no limits to the vitriol they will heap on people who think judges shouldn’t rely on foreign law and fabricated “rights” found no where in the Constitution to advance an extremist social agenda.

A decade of rejection at the ballot box has led liberals to turn to the courts to implement their policy goals, regardless of the will of the people or the parameters on the authority of the judiciary established by the Framers of the Constitution.

In addition, a minority of U.S. senators who support these judicial abuses have attempted—and will again—to stop the Senate from performing its constitutional function of giving an up or down vote on judicial nominees with unprecedented filibusters. This is a clear abrogation of the Senate’s responsibility. Landmark Legal Foundation is one of a growing group of organizations and individuals who are fighting back, answering the outrageous claims and false assertions with sound, persuasive reasoning and unassailable facts. That is the rationale behind Landmark’s Judicial Reform Initiative.

Landmark's Public Accountability Initiative is a public education campaign designed to help reshape the landscape of public debate on the vacancies on the Supreme Court - and lower federal court vacancies - to focus on the proper, constitutional role of the judiciary in our federal system. Through hundreds of television and radio appearances, print media and electronic media stories Landmark is raising issues and asking questions about the damage decades of judicial activism has done to our constitutional system of government. We are fighting to build public understanding about the role the Framers of the Constitution intended for the judiciary, and how the country can return the proper balance of power to the three branches of the federal government.
